Unpopular opinion possibly!! If Robert Jordan didn't repeat and ramble the series might be halved.
Rereading book 3 and the amount of describing the one power, Ajahs and so on grates.
RJ made a wonderful series and grew beyond the Tolkien trope. Just wow so verbose.

I can see your point certainly but the story carries it well enough to not get bogged down. He does like to repeat things though.

I don't mind the verbosity of RJ and haven't felt particularly bogged down by it either and I believe that's because he was a far less dry writer next to Tolkien

I did feel that way in some of the series, but I think it was because I didn’t know that some of the information would be important later in the series. I’ve only done one read through so far, so I bet the more verbose sections might seem more drawn out than that first read.

I only felt that way once or twice, but only when I was binge reading read like 2 books in a week.

I suspect the reread has something to do with it. Considering the length of time In between the initial , I'm not sure.
Then again it might be hormones being annoying. The fact it's on audible might effect it

Oh God the kramers would drive me up the wall over time. They are good narrators but they just don't fit
