I've just finished my re-read of the great hunt. First time post the last book but probably my third time on this book. Still my favorite overall, for me the end where everything comes to a head at Falme, the fact that Rand is going back for Egwene but really is being pulled back by the need to fufill prophecy, the white cloaks, the girl's escape from the Seanchan, Ingtar coming back to the light and Mat blowing the Horn. . . a captivating sequence.

I wish the "other worlds" had been used more, but with the complexities in the main world as well as developing the world of dreams, I can see why there wasn't time to delve into this concept as fully as we desire.

I think you're right Verbinia, there is no other reference to the other lives they saw. I don't think Matt even remembers them. I hate when we find out the Aes Sedai who spoke to Egwene, the one who asked for her real name to be remembered was responsible for capturing another sister.

This is also one of my all time favorites as well. It's a very memorable moment.

I love Hurin - he's one of my favorite characters in the book. I've always liked the scene where Artur Paendrag suggests that he might become bound to the horn. In my head, he will be. Hurin's a true hero.
