Mathei the Great Salt Lake is a bit smelly but something I would definitely recommend seeing. There are several points of interest around the lake including a large boat marina on the south end and Antelope Island located north of Salt Lake city and Willard Bay which is a freshwater inlet even farther north....

Transit is something like $3.25 for 2 hours or some such. But there's a free ride zone in downtown Salt Lake, so if you stay in that area (which is where our hotel will be) then you can ride as much as you want

Note that we haven't chosen our hotel yet, but we'll be choosing something in downtown

Antelope Island is actually pretty neat. There's a bunch of buffalo and antelope that you can usually see. There's also some decent hiking and a nifty old farm that you can walk around.
